Hi, I'm Alex
I’m a therapist who believes real healing starts with real human connection -
and that therapy should feel like a place where you can actually be yourself - not another place where you have to perform or have it all together. My approach is warm, honest, and rooted in getting to what’s underneath the surface, with a little humor and lightness along the way.
I’ve always been drawn to the stories underneath the stories:
the things we learn to carry quietly,
the patterns that seem to follow us even when we desperately want to leave them behind,
and the ways our past can show up in our relationships, our bodies, and the way we see ourselves.
That curiosity is what led me toward trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and parts work.
I love helping people make sense of the pieces of themselves that may seem confusing, frustrating, or even contradictory, and creating a space where those parts can be met with curiosity instead of judgment.
I’m less interested in simply trimming the weeds than I am in understanding why they keep growing in the first place. Together, we’ll get curious about the experiences, beliefs, patterns, and parts of you that have learned to protect you along the way, and we’ll pay attention to what your body is telling us, too. Because sometimes your brain can say, “I’m totally fine,” while your nervous system is very clearly sending a different memo.
Sitting with me should feel like sitting with someone who genuinely sees you - not someone waiting for you to say the “right” thing. I’ll bring warmth, humor, honesty, and a willingness to go deep when you’re ready. I’ll meet you with compassion, but I won’t be afraid to gently challenge you when I think there’s something worth looking at.
My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can finally put down some of what you’ve been carrying, understand yourself a little more deeply, and start feeling more at home in your own life.
My Approach
I don’t believe therapy is about checking boxes, memorizing coping skills, or talking in circles about the same problem forever. I want to understand the whole picture - your experiences, your thoughts, your body, your relationships, and the patterns you’ve developed along the way. We’ll work together to understand not just what is happening, but why, so we can create change that actually sticks.
Trauma-Informed & Root-Focused
I believe your reactions make sense when we understand the experiences that shaped them. Rather than judging or trying to shut down the ways you respond, we’ll slow things down and get curious about what’s underneath: how past experiences may still be influencing the way you think, feel, relate, and move through the world today. The goal is to help you feel more choice, safety, and freedom in the present, rather than feeling like old patterns are running the show.
EMDR
Sometimes you can understand something logically and still feel completely stuck in it. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help your brain process experiences that may still feel emotionally “stuck,” so they don’t have to keep running the show in your present.
Parts Work / IFS
You’re not “too much,” broken, or contradictory. We all have different parts of ourselves that developed for different reasons. We’ll get curious about those parts, understand what they’re trying to protect, and build more compassion for the parts of you that may have been working overtime.
Getting Out of Your Head & Into Your Body
Your body often knows something is happening before your brain has caught up. We may use body scans and mindfulness to notice where emotions, tension, and stress show up physically, without forcing you to immediately change or fix what you’re feeling.
Challenging the Stories You Tell Yourself
Just because you think something doesn’t mean it’s true. Together, we’ll slow down the automatic thoughts and beliefs that shape how you see yourself and your life, look for the evidence, and explore whether those beliefs still fit who you are today.
A Little Humor Goes a Long Way
Deep work doesn’t have to feel heavy every second. There’s room for laughter, honesty, curiosity, and the occasional “okay, but why are we doing this to ourselves?”

More About Me
I'm a Big Reader
Fiction and psychological thrillers are my go-to, especially when I need to get out of my own head and settle in with a good story.
I love to cook… but I have a bone to pick with the math
Two hours of cooking, ten minutes of eating. Somehow that feels deeply unfair.
Movement is my favorite form of mental health care
Whether it’s a workout, getting outside, or simply moving my body, I notice a huge difference in how I feel when I make time for it.
I’m a fake shopaholic
My online shopping carts are full. I add everything I want, stare at it for a while, and then close the app without buying a thing. Honestly, I think the cart is the hobby.
I love to travel
There’s something about getting out of your usual routine and experiencing somewhere new that I absolutely love. I just wish traveling with young kids came with a little less… logistics.
